چکیده

Abstract We present a recent Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array observation of the CO(1−0) line emission in central galaxy Zw 3146 cluster ( z = 0.2906). also updated X-ray cavity measurements from archival Chandra observations. The 5 × 10 M ⊙ supply molecular gas, which is confined to 4 kpc, marginally resolved into three extensions that are reminiscent filaments observed similar systems. No velocity structure would be indicative ordered motion observed. all trail cavities, and potentially formed condensation intracluster gas lifted wakes rising bubbles. Many cycles feedback required account for entire reservoir. continuum source mutually offset by 2.6 with no detected coincident source. It not source, lies at gravitational center brightest galaxy. Molecular Gas and Agn Fueling

CO emission, tracing the molecular content and distribution in galaxies, is a privileged tool to trace gas towards the nucleus, since the HI tracer is in general depleted there. A review is done of recent CO line observations, with sufficient spatial resolution to indicate the morphology and kinematics of the gas near the nucleus. The puzzling result that nuclei presently observed in an active ...

Molecular Gas in The Central Kpc of Starbursts and AGN

With the recent advent of large interferometric surveys, we can now probe the physical conditions, dynamics, and star-forming properties of molecular gas in the central kpc of starbursts and active galactic nuclei. We present results from the high-resolution (∼ 100 pc) interferometric survey of molecular gas in the inner kpc of nearby starbursts (Jogee, Kenney, & Scoville 2001a) and the ongoing...

Properties of the Molecular Gas in Starburst Galaxies and AGN

There is growing evidence that the properties of the molecular gas in the nuclei of starburst galaxies and in AGN may be very different from those seen in Galactic star forming regions and that a high kinetic temperature in the molecular gas may lead to a non-standard initial mass function in the next generation of stars. Unfortunately, among the fundamental parameters derived from molecular li...

The Role of Molecular Gas in Obscuring Seyfert Agn

In a sample of local active galactic nuclei studied at a spatial resolution on the order of ten parsecs we show that the interstellar medium traced by the molecular hydrogen ν=1-0 S(1) line at 2.1 μm forms a geometrically thick, clumpy disk. The kinematics of the molecular gas reveals general rotation, although an additional significant component of random bulk motion is required by the high lo...

Simulated Molecular Gas Emission in Galaxy Mergers with Embedded AGN

We investigate the effect of embedded active galactic nuclei (AGN) in galaxy mergers on the CO molecular line emission by combining non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) radiative transfer calculations with hydrodynamic simulations. We find that AGN feedback energy in gas rich galaxy mergers can contribute to large molecular outflows which may be detectable via velocityintegrated emission c...
